Tourism grows in Crete but is still very seasonal. Authorities and major actors of tourism industry focus on a way to strenghten winter tourism on the island. That was the main reason of the Winter tourism day event organised in Rethymno, end of february. Launched by the islands regional governor Stavros Arnaoutakis, the metting was a good tribune to send the government the message to increase incentives and initiatives as well as the urgent need to develop sufficient infrastructures (I.E the Kastelli airport)
